Digital Health Innovation: Leveraging Technology for Health Equity in Kenya

Kenya's robust mobile technology ecosystem and high rates of digital connectivity create unprecedented opportunities for digital health innovations that address access barriers and improve health outcomes. Our organization has developed expertise in digital health research, implementation, and evaluation with particular focus on ensuring technologies serve marginalized populations rather than exacerbating inequities. Our current work includes mobile health applications for chronic disease management, SMS-based health education and appointment reminders, telehealth platforms connecting rural patients with specialists, digital tools for community health workers, health information systems strengthening, and artificial intelligence applications for diagnostic support. We employ human-centered design approaches, rigorous evaluation frameworks, and continuous quality improvement methods. Our team includes software developers, user experience researchers, implementation scientists, health informaticists, and clinicians. We are seeking partnerships with technology companies, academic research institutions, health systems, and investors interested in scalable digital health solutions for African contexts. We offer opportunities for co-design and testing of technologies with end-users, access to diverse implementation settings from urban informal settlements to rural health facilities, evaluation expertise combining quantitative and qualitative methods, and pathways for scale-up through government health systems. Potential collaborators benefit from our deep understanding of local technology landscapes, user needs, regulatory environments, and implementation barriers. We are committed to developing digital health solutions that are accessible, affordable, culturally appropriate, and genuinely improve health equity.
